Police release images of men wanted over Warwick Davis caravan 'theft'

Police investigating the theft of Star Wars actor Warwick Davis' caravan have released a CCTV image of two men they want to speak to.

The Swift Cranfield caravan was stolen between 9pm and 9.30pm from Short Drove in Holme on October 8, Cambridgeshire Police said.

Davis, who has also starred in several Harry Potter films as Charms professor Filius Flitwick, previously enlisted the help of his Twitter followers and celebrity friends to help find the stolen mobile home.

The 3ft 6 tall actor tweeted: "If you stole our caravan or know who did, please can we have the sentimental items back that are of no use to you? Special holiday memories."

Police have now released an image of two men in connection with the theft.

Pc Mat Belfitt said: "Many appeals have been made on social media using #FindWarwicksCaravan, please do help spread the word and call us on 101 if you have any information.

"I am particularly keen to speak to the two men in the CCTV image as I believe they may have important information which could assist our investigation.

"Warwick and his family have been left really upset by the theft as their caravan contained a lot of sentimental items."

Davis posted an update on Twitter yesterday evening, telling users he had "nothing further to report at this time".

Catchphrase presenter Stephen Mulhern was among those to show his support: "Whoever has nicked @WarwickADavis caravan you will be hunted down! Big mistake."

Asked by DJ Chris Moyles whether there was any news, Davis replied: "It was spotted heading east of Yaxley, Peterborough towed by blue pickup, sparks flying from a dragging wheel lock."

After one Twitter user posted a photo of a miniature caravan with the caption "new security photo released of the theft!", Davis responded: "Not funny... but they didn't steal my sense of humour so I'll give you that one. Nicely played!"

Davis has thanked his 530,000 followers on Twitter for their "amazing support".

The 45-year-old is due to appear in forthcoming Star Wars movie, Star Wars: Episode VII, following on from roles in two previous instalments of the saga. He has already played Wicket the Ewok in 1983's Return Of The Jedi and he took the roles of Weazel and Wald in The Phantom Menace in 1999.
