This is the best restaurant in the UK

A restaurant in Birmingham has been named the best in the UK according to TripAdvisor's Traveller's Choice awards.

Adam's, a "British fine dining restaurant" found in the heart of Birmingham, has won rave reviews. It received its Michelin star just six months after opening, becoming only the fourth restaurant in Birmingham to receive one.

Describing the restaurant, one reviewer says: "A fantastic experience... I was put at ease as soon as we walked in by the welcoming staff. The dining room is contemporary and has lots of atmosphere. We went for the tasting menu, every dish was crafted so well and not only did they have sublime flavours but also was presented with incredible imagination."

The UK restaurant has also made it into the top ten restaurants in the world this year. It was placed at number four in the Traveller's Choice global list, while Restaurant Sat Bains in Nottingham made it to number five and Raymond Blanc's Le Manoir Aux Quat'Saisons in Oxfordshire made it to number nine.

Other restaurants to feature in the UK top ten include Michel Roux Jr's Le Gavroche in London and The Clink restaurant at HMP Cardiff.
