This animal may look alarmingly like a small leopard or even cheetah, but it's actually a domesticated African serval cat.

The second surprise is this cat appears to be able to talk. Looking up at his owner adoringly, Zeus the cat nestles into his owner's neck and she tasks him with saying the word 'mama'.

After a number of attempts, Zeus finally gives into his owner's demands and emits a drawn-out noise that sounds a lot like 'mama'.

Happy with her pet's progress, the owner doesn't stop there, instead she tries to prompt Zeus' impressive vocals one more time. After Zeus puts on a repeat performance she seems satisfied, turning the camera off.

According to Petful, servals are wild animals that have been banned from becoming pets in a number of American states.

The cats need a large area to exercise in a special diets, meaning ownership can be very expensive.

These high-energy cats can weigh up to 40 to 50 pounds and have a life expectancy of around 20 years. Although servals can be affectionate, potential owners should always remember they are still wild animals and should be cautious.
