An amazing 200-year-old windmill has been converted into a three-bedroom family home. This stunning home has been completely renovated, and comes with spectacular views across the Lake District, but is on the market for just £495,000.
The Old Mill is set over five floors. From the moment you step in through the front door and see the exposed beams, slate flooring and stunning central staircase, you know it's going to be something special. The owners have done an impressive job of retaining the character of the property, as well as building in enough space for a family home.
The open-plan living area on the ground floor still features four of the original mill stones as architectural features.
The kitchen (in the former drying kiln) has been kitted out with bespoke units and granite surfaces.
The bedrooms on the first floor are striking semi-circular rooms. It is in the historic village of Pilling in Lancashire. It's a lovely rural location, but it is situated between Lancaster and Preston, and is just not a particularly expensive part of the country.
The village has a number of large, impressive, period properties on the market at the moment. It offers, for example, a 6-bedroom detached Georgian house, for just £500,000. The windmill, therefore seems very sensibly priced.
