The famous Durdle Door, aka the Jurassic Coast archway, was lit up to celebrate the International Year of Light - and this timelapse footage of the event encapsulates the beauty of each illumination.

More than 3,000 people witnessed the Purbeck beauty spot as the show took place. This iconic natural limestone arch is privately owned by the owners of Lulworth Estate. The name Durdle is derived from the Old English 'thirl' meaning bore or drill.
