An amateur drone operator has captured the beautiful moment two huge whales approached a paddle boarder in Australia.

Jaimen Hudson heard there were Southern Right whales off the beach at Esperance in Western Australia and grabbed his equipment before racing down there, reports the Daily Telegraph.

At the same time, paddle boarder Dave Price took to the water to see if he could spot them.

Mr Hudson then managed to capture the incredible moment the majestic animals encountered "Pricey" on the water.

According to ABC News, Mr Hudson said: "There was one time when the whales lifted their heads up looked up over Pricey's board, they were so inquisitive and wanted to know what he was.

"I don't think it was dangerous, the whales moved to where he was and the whole time they were very slow moving and peaceful."

The stunning video shows the crystal clear water, with the whales looking enormous in comparison to the paddleboarder.

Jaimen said: "The reaction to this clip has been huge and I really enjoy doing it, so hopefully I can take it further one day."
