Stranded tourists at the Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Game Reserve in South Africa had an incredible encounter with a pair of black rhinos while they were on safari recently.

Unimpressed with the new arrivals, the rhinos first tried to stare them down and intimidate them into leaving.

When this didn't work, they decided to get up close and personal. One of the guests in the safari vehicle can be heard saying: "It's coming, it's coming... oh my goodness."

The rhino pair seem to be staring down the visitors before the one at the front stamps his foot into the dirt track, spins round and the pair take off again. You can sense the tourists breathing a sigh of relief at this point.

According to the Hluhluwe Game Reserve website, black rhinos can weigh up to 1.5 tonnes and reach 160cm tall at the shoulder. they feed on twigs and herbs and can run at speeds of up to 50km per hour.
