Wokingham named best place for families to live

A commuter town with low crime rates and good schools has been named the best place for families for the second year in a national study.

Wokingham in Berkshire was rated above others in England and Wales in a report using more than 70 sets of criteria including house prices, average salaries, childcare, education and crime.

Finance firm OneFamily said its Family Hotspots calculator would help families looking for somewhere to live.

The village of Winscombe in Somerset was named in second place, followed by Farringdon in Oxfordshire.
