BMW and McLaren plan joint car, reports show

When British supercar manufacturer and F1 outfit McLaren and Bavarian automotive giant BMW get together, great things happen. Last time out they made the McLaren F1 together, simultaneously the world's fastest and quickest car, and rumour has it they're planning something special again.

BMW is reportedly in talks to develop its own supercar from McLaren's P16 project – its replacement for the 650S – in both coupe and convertible forms, to be ready for the 2017 Frankfurt motor show circuit and production by 2018.
