Police appeal after prisoner flees from hospital

Police are appealing for information after a prisoner escaped from custody in Liverpool.

Thomas Quinn, 30, was on remand at HMP Liverpool when he fled from Aintree University Hospital where he was receiving treatment for a hand injury.

He had been awaiting a court appearance for robbery offences.

Prison officers reported that Quinn, of Hall Lane, Wythenshawe, Greater Manchester had escaped from their custody at about midnight yesterday.

He is described as being white, 5ft 9ins tall and of slight to medium build with brown hair and a tribal tattoo on his right arm.

He was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt, grey tracksuit bottoms and navy Adidas trainers and had a bandage on his right hand

Quinn is known to have links to various locations across Greater Manchester, North Wales and Ireland.

An investigation into the full circumstances of the incident is under way.
