There are some places around the world that are so strangely beautiful and mesmerising that it's hard to believe they really exist.

Grand Prismatic Springs, Yellowstone National Park
Green algae is responsible for this area's magical glow with rings of yellow, red and orange land surrounding the spring.

Shibazakura Hill, Japan
Between April and May each year around 400,000 pink moss flowers come into bloom, painting the area in vibrant shades of pink and fuchsia.
Dallol, Ethiopia
This is known to be one of the hottest places on earth and temperatures regularly reach as high as 46 C on the thermometer. Those brave enough to take on the heat will be able to witness the incredibly colourful display of salt and sulphur deposits that decorate the area.
Antelope Canyon, Arizona
The incredible scenery that can be found here makes it one of the most visited slot canyons in the whole of the United States. The formation is made from sandstone which has been weathered over the years giving it its unique shape and colour.
Natron Lake, Tanzania
The alkaline water in this magenta lake is so caustic it has the potential to burn the skin and eyes. The chemical make-up of the water also makes it an efficient preserving agent, and animals that have been unlucky enough to die there have been immortalised in the water.
