Two men have been charged with murder over the fatal stabbing of a teenager allegedly chased by a mob through a housing estate, police said.

Akeem Gbadamosi, 21, and Eugene Ocran, 19, will appear in court today charged over the death of 17-year-old Marcel Addai on September 4, Scotland Yard said.

Teenager Mr Addai was found with stab wounds on the St John's Estate in Hoxton, in the east London borough of Hackney, after police were called to reports of an assault.

Witnesses described him being chased by up to 15 people before he died.

The London Ambulance Service attended the scene but he was pronounced dead at 11.47pm.

His family said they had been left "totally devastated" by his death.

Gbadamosi and Ocran, whose addresses have not been released by Scotland Yard, will appear at Hendon Magistrates' Court in north London.
