Beautiful time-lapse footage captures ship's journey (video)
This incredible footage shows the voyage of a container ship between Ho-Chi Minh, Vietnam and Ningbo, China in July last year.
The time-lapse film is made up of more than 78,000 files that have been edited together to create a breathtaking day to night visual experience.

The ship travels over miles of open water before docking, being unloaded and reloaded as the day passes.
Just after night falls the ship makes its move once again, leaving the loading station and making its way back into the open waters.
You can see the ship being guided by flashing red and green lights as it makes its way through the ocean towards the splash of light on the horizon.

The beauty of the video is compounded by the darkening clouds in the sky, especially towards the end of the footage when a storm appears to be settling in.
According to Digital Photography School, time-lapse photography is a form of cinematography that involves using a much lower frequency frame rate to capture the film than will be used when it's played back.
This means events that would usually take hours or days to view can be watched in a matter of seconds.
