'Drunk' Easyjet passenger arrested after she 'punched flight attendant'

A 'drunken' woman on an Easyjet flight to Ibiza was arrested after 'punching a flight attendant'.

The flight from Stansted was diverted to Barcelona for the passenger to be removed.

A video sent to the Daily Mirror showed the woman being walked off the plane in handcuffs by two police officers.

She is believed to have been part of a group of three women.

A passenger, who asked not to be named, told the Daily Mail that it was clear the group were "completely drunk" when they boarded the 6am flight.

"I was shocked to see one of the girls was screaming and shouting and punching the flight attendant," he said.

"We were probably only about 30 minutes from Ibiza, but the pilot came on and said we would have to land in Barcelona. There, the police came on and the girl was taken off the plane."

The other two women were allowed to stay on the flight which continued to Ibiza.

Last month, five British men were removed from an Easyjet plane by Spanish police after abusing cabin crew over a one-drink policy.

Other passengers on the flight from Bristol to Ibiza said the men became aggressive towards staff after being told they would only be allowed one alcoholic drink each.

It is alleged the group behaved in a threatening manner for the duration of the two-and-a-half-hour flight.

Spanish police boarded the plane upon its arrival in Ibiza, and escorted the men from the aircraft.

Speaking to the Express, one eyewitness said: "When we got on the plane we were told we would only be allowed one drink - as is quite normal now.

"But these lads got quite abusive about it. They were abusive to the staff for the duration of the flight, so they reported it to the captain.

"When we landed the police came on to the flight and let them off. Ironically, they were actually a bit delayed because they were dealing with another, similar, situation."
