The combination of cheap petrol prices and a train strike will see an extra 14 million drivers descend on Britain's roads this bank holiday.

With a First Great Western strike starting on Saturday, the RAC expects there to be an increase of 50 per cent in the amount of people travelling in their cars. With road works stretching along wide areas of the road network, delays are expected to be widespread.
