This couple from Miami took their wedding to the next level when they plunged into water to say their vows.

Kimberly Triolet and Jorge Rodriguez got married yesterday (Tuesday) alongside an iconic statue that can be found 25 feet underwater off the Florida Keys.

The Christ of the Deep statue is nine foot tall and was submerged in August 1965. It has since become the emblem of Key Largo's John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park.

Triolet said: "To be able to get married at the Christ statue on the 50th anniversary is amazing and we'll for sure be coming back for our 50th anniversary to dive it again.

"Pictures cannot just describe how pretty it is, and it's something definitely that should be on everybody's bucket list to see."

The Christ statue is a replica of the Italian original created by Guido Galletti, found in the shallow waters of San Fruttuoso Bay near Portofino, Italy, in the Fifties.

Christ of the Deep in Florida doesn't have to be viewed underwater: Many tourists take the opportunity to have a look at the unusual statue through glass-bottomed boats.
