Survey finds 1 million motorists a year run out of fuel

A survey by insurance company LV has found that nearly a million motorists a year break down after running their cars to near-empty.

Their predicament has come about because one in four drivers thinking that they can cover 40 miles or more after the fuel warning light has come on. Unfortunately, only half of cars can actually manage this.
