A new bride has been charged with murdering her solicitor husband.

Sharon Edwards, 42, of Parkers Wood Close, Chorley, Lancashire, is accused of killing David Edwards, 51.

She has been remanded into custody and will appear at Preston Magistrates' Court this morning.

Mr Edwards was found with a stab wound to his chest at their £300,000 four-bedroom home on Sunday evening.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mr Edwards had only recently returned from his honeymoon with his new wife.

They were engaged last December and married in June this year in Las Vegas.

The victim had been a solicitor for 26 years and was a partner at a local law firm, Kevills, based in Chorley, until being made redundant recently.
