Sudanese immigrant faces 'Channel Tunnel walk' charges

An immigrant who is alleged to have almost crossed the English Channel on foot by nearly walking the entire length of the Channel Tunnel is to appear in court.

Abdul Rahman Haroun, 40, has been charged with causing an obstruction to an engine or carriage using the railway under the Malicious Damage Act 1861.

The Sudanese man is due to appear at Canterbury Crown Court in Kent.

The alleged incident took place from Calais to Britain earlier this month.
