Searching for a unique way to send a message to one of your friends or family members? Look no further because an American startup company may have just the answer for you.

Alex Craig's business 'Potato Parcel' allows customers to tell their loved ones how they feel in a fun and quirky way.

The 24-year-old from North Texas has started a company which allows customers to send messages of up to 140 characters written on a potato.

It's sounds about as bizarre as it is, but the surreal messaging service is already generating the app developer around $10,000 a month in profit.

Alex started Potato Parcel in May this year and promoted the idea on Reddit and by the second day he had $2,000 worth of orders!

Consumers can chose what size potato they would like and what message they would like on the potato too. All orders are sent anonymously.

Large potatoes will set you back $9.99 while medium ones cost around $7.99.

Speaking of his company's success, Alex said: "I would say the two things that hold everyone back in life is fear and doubt. The fear of failure and the far of wasting your time, ad the doubt that you can actually achieve something big on a huge scale."
