Taylor Swift could soon become an honorary Scotswoman - and is reportedly eyeing up a £4.6 million castle in the country to be nearer to boyfriend Calvin Harris and his family.

The singer is said to have her eye on the sprawling Tower of Lethendy, north of Perth, which is a 90-minute drive from Edinburgh, where Calvin's family are based, reports the Mirror.

The eight-bedroom house lies 14 miles north of Perth, with the Grampian Mountains providing a dramatic backdrop to the north.

The property looks like it jumped straight out of a fairytale, with its turrets and towers.

According to the Scotsman, Taylor will love the authenticity of the historical building, which dates back to 1570. A source said: "Taylor is all about romances. She is looking forward to snuggling up by a roaring fire with Calvin and embracing Scottish traditions."

The Telegraph reports that the eye-watering price tag should not be a problem for Taylor, who earned an estimated £41 million in 2014 alone.

The estate is marketed by Savills and is listed on Rightmove, which describes it as "the ultimate Scottish residence with private golf course".
