Dynasty actress Emma Samms: I would love to go on Strictly Come Dancing

Dynasty star Emma Samms has revealed she would love to take part in Strictly Come Dancing, but she fears her appearance on Tumble may have put her out of the running.

The 54-year-old actress - who played Fallon Carrington Colby in the 80s soap opera - took part in the BBC gymnastics reality show in 2014, and admitted she was shocked that producers got away with putting celebrities in jeopardy by performing such dangerous stunts on live television.

Samms said: "It was dangerous! I can't believe that health and safety got away with that, because there were things about it that were treacherous! No safety line or safety net, six metres in the air upside down! Who would have thought they would have been allowed to get away with that?! It's extraordinary!"

Tumble was axed after just one series and now Samms wishes she could compete in dance contest Strictly instead.

She said: "I'd love to do Strictly but I think now that I've done Tumble I won't be asked. Partly because it's similar and partly because I was a bit of an awkward customer on Tumble.

"I was at the Royal Ballet School, and they like a journey on that show. Even though it was a very, very long time ago, I think that might be what's always scuppered my chances of doing Strictly. But I love dancing, I'd absolutely adore to do Strictly, because dancing - when you get it right it's the best feeling in the world."

The General Hospital star returns to TV this week presenting new documentary series Murder Behind Mansion Walls, which begins on Friday August 14 on ID.

The show explores the true stories of wealthy families who have been driven to murder.

Samms said: "Some of these stories, if we'd written them into Dynasty people would have gone: 'For goodness' sake that's so far-fetched!'

"But what's so intriguing is that in Murder Behind Mansion Walls these were all true stories, they really happened."
