Unlikely Friends! Baby Elephant Has a Ball Playing With Flock of Birds

An adorable newborn elephant has been captured having fun playing with some unusual friends.

The little guy can be seen throwing his trunk around and skipping along the road surrounded by some low flying swallows at Kruger National Park in South Africa.

The elephant then chased the birds down the street and into a park area before making his way back to his parents.

The little calf looked like he was having a ball running around with the swallows swooping and diving above its head.

Kruger National Park is one of the largest game reserves in Africa and has more species of large mammals than any other African game reserve.

In October last year, we reported on a series of beautiful photos that were taken of a baby baboon and its mother playing at the African game reserve.

The pair were captured having a whale of a time as the mother held her baby high above her head in what looked amazingly like a human interaction.

The precious moment was captured by Mariana de Klerk who said: "The mother and baby started playing. First she went down onto the ground to his level and the next moment and she lifted the baby up into the air just like we humans do.

"She did this two or three times. I was amazed by their interaction because it was so humanlike.
