Ever wondered where the most adventurous people in the UK live? Or perhaps you want to know which country is least likely to head abroad on holiday?

Well a recent survey has answered all of these questions and more.

Watch: The country with the best reputation has been revealed

Research conducted by Inghams has revealed that the residents of Edinburgh are the most adventurous people in the UK, whereas those living in Belfast were found to be the biggest wimps with only 27 per cent willing to try new holidays such as skiing.

Shockingly, the research also shows that pensioners are the most willing to try out extreme sports like snowboarding and skiing, and the over 65s ranked far above those between 18 and 24.

The research also revealed that, unsurprisingly, fear was the main factor stopping people from wanting to try new sports and activities.

While Cardiff was second on the list of most adventurous cities, not all the Welsh feel the same as the survey showed that 16 per cent are put off travelling abroad because they think they would miss home comforts.

The top ten most adventurous UK cities were as follows: Edinburgh, Cardiff, Birmingham, Bristol, Nottingham, London, Norwich, Liverpool, Manchester and Dublin.
