Ever struggled to take the perfect selfie? Well don't worry because this video gives you some expert advice on how to get the most flattering angle... kind of.

The film shows an adorable sloth in a tree filming its face with an action camera. Unfortunately sloths aren't quite so advanced that they've all started carrying cameras, this one belongs to passing tourists, who you can see looking on from ground level.

The footage, shot earlier this month in the Volcán Mombacho nature reserve in Nicaragua, shows the creature's face as it films itself while the camera's owners wave in the background.

According to the WWF, sloths spend around 15 to 20 hours a day sleeping, and when they're not snoozing they're making their way through the rainforest at a rate of around 40 yards a day. The slovenly animals are also known for the bizarre squealing noise they make.

This isn't the first time sloths have put themselves in front of the lens and it seems these critters are definitely not camera shy.

In 2012, we saw one cheeky sloth photobomb a group out on a trip in Costa Rica. The creature dropped in on the school kids who were taking part in an International Student Volunteers expedition.

Tour guide Manuel Rmnirez said: "I thought it would be nice to take a group shot. As I looked through the camera lens I could see something creeping in to the frame.

"When I realised it was a baby sloth I clicked the button as fast as I could, not that he was going anywhere fast."
