A passenger has captured the moment a plane's door was hanging open mid-air on a flight in Malaysia.

Surprisingly, most of the passengers don't seem too concerned, although one man can be seen anxiously looking around at the gaping hole in the side of the plane.

The footage was taken on a Twin Otter plane coming into land at Miri Airport in Malaysia during high winds.

The Daily Mail reports that the incident is thought to have taken place on an afternoon flight between the town of Lawas in the northern part of the Malaysian state of Sarawak to Miri in the northeast.

The plane reportedly landed safely with no injuries, despite the door situation.

According to the Mirror, MASwings, the regional airline operating the Rural Air Services in East Malaysia, has refused to comment on the incident.

In January this year, a Qantas plane was forced to return to Melbourne airport - after a nervous passenger started 'playing with the exit door' mid-air.

The 18-year-old man reportedly became "fidgety and agitated" around 15 minutes after take off, forcing the captan to return to Melbourne, reports ABC News.

And, in May, a dog died after falling out of a plane during takeoff at the Blue Grass Airport in Kentucky.

The plane was being chartered by Pilots N Paws, a non-profit organisation that helps rescue animals reach new homes.
