Ultimate Glamping: The Caravan That Floats Like a Boat

Question: What's the difference between a caravan holiday and a boating holiday?

Answer: Nothing if you book into one of these bizarre amphibious caravans.

One German designer is already making waves in the world of glamping with this bizarre new invention.

Daniel Straub was inspired by the idea of ultimate freedom on land and water in a dream design reminiscent of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

The Sealander has a 380kg waterproof chassis which is made from glass fibre and reinforced plastic.

Once afloat an electric motor powers the caravan through the water, reaching speeds of up to 9km an hour.

The amphibious invention is perfect for those who like living life in the slow lane. The beds inside can be converted into benches, meaning it can be used through the day and night.

According to Sealander, "The high quality and aesthetics of boat-building are combined with the flexibility of a mobile home. Its dynamic and modern design expresses lightness and agility."

The Sealander also has a retractable sun roof allowing you the opportunity to soak up some sun while gliding through the water and the large windows give you the chance to appreciate the ever changing scenery.
