Five British men were removed from an Easyjet plane by Spanish police after abusing cabin crew over a one-drink policy.

Other passengers on the flight from Bristol to Ibiza said the men became aggressive towards staff after being told they would only be allowed one alcoholic drink each.

It is alleged the group behaved in a threatening manner for the duration of the two-and-a-half-hour flight.

Spanish police then boarded the plane upon its arrival in Ibiza, and escorted the men from the aircraft.

Speaking to the Express, one eyewitness said: "This group of lads were sat quite close to the back of the plane. When we got on the plane we were told we would only be allowed one drink - as is quite normal now.

"But these lads got quite abusive about it. They were abusive to the staff for the duration of the flight, so they reported it to the Captain.

"When we landed the police came on to the flight and let them off. Ironically, they were actually a bit delayed because they were dealing with another, similar, situation."

Speaking to the Mirror, a spokesperson for Easyjet said: "EasyJet carries more than 65 million passengers each year and whilst they are rare, takes all incidents of disruptive behaviour on board very seriously.

"We have a duty to ensure the safety and well-being of all on board.

"EasyJet's cabin crew and ground staff are trained to assess and evaluate all incidents and act quickly and appropriately.

"We do not tolerate abusive or threatening behaviour on board and always push for prosecution."

Last month, supermodel Kate Moss was escorted from a flight by police after reports that she was being "disruptive".

No complaints were made and she was not arrested following her arrival into Luton Airport from Bodrum in Turkey.

A Bedfordshire Police spokesman said: "We were called to assist staff in escorting a passenger from a flight arriving into Luton airport this afternoon. The passenger had been reported as being disruptive on the flight.

"Officers attended and escorted the passenger from the plane. No formal complaints were made against her and she was not arrested."

And, in May, police removed a man from an Easyjet flight from Bristol Airport to Majorca after he used "abusive and threatening language".
