Couple return from holiday to £5.8m lottery win

A retired couple were enjoying a beach holiday in Egypt when they won nearly £6 million on the Lotto.

Lottery winners Dawn and Malcolm Bosworth, from Tamworth, received an email from Camelot during their break in Sharm El Sheikh but couldn't open it.

It was only once they returned from their two-week holiday that they unpacked and finally checked their numbers.

Speaking to The Sun, Dawn said the couple would not be going crazy with spending the £5,872,705.

She said: "I was on the way to my mum's yesterday thinking: 'I'm a multi-millionaire travelling by bus.' I shop in Primark and I'm going to carry on doing so. We won't blow it all on helicopters or planes, but I do want a swimming pool."

Loading bay worker Malcolm, 64, told the Birmingham Mail: "We've been on cloud nine since we found out.

"We're not going to go mad – we not that type.

"But after we've helped our family I'm going to treat myself to a Maserati.

"We've lived in Tamworth since 1979."

In February, a bus driver spoke of how a "lucky penny" helped him win £1.8 million on the National Lottery.

Sean Lloyd, 48, was on his lunch break from driving the 350 service in Oldham when he spotted the coin on the floor outside a Tesco store as he was going to buy a ticket.

He rubbed the coin on the ticket for good luck - and later found out he'd won the National Lottery quadruple rollover.

Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, he said: "I went to Tesco on my lunch break from the 350 and saw this shiny coin on the floor outside.

"I just had this feeling that it was lucky so I picked it up and rubbed it on the ticket.
