Man dead, woman hurt in shooting

A man has died and a woman is in hospital following a suspected double shooting.

Emergency services were called to Lordship Lane in Wood Green, north London, at around 5.45pm today.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said no arrests had been made.

The two victims were injured in the street, with cordons and diversions in place.

Forensics officers continue to work at the scene.

Police said the man died at the scene at around 7pm.

The woman has been taken to an east London hospital, where she is in a critical but stable condition.
