Walker rescued after falling 300ft down cliff and getting trapped under boulder
A man in his 50s was rescued after falling 300ft down a cliff face and becoming trapped under a boulder at St Albans Head near Swanage in Dorset.
He had been walking with a friend when the rocks slipped out from under them and the man fell to the bottom of the cliff.
ITV News reports that he was able to dial 999 from his mobile phone after getting trapped under the boulder.
Rescuers used specialist equipment from Dorset Fire to free the man and he was flow to Dorset County Hospital by helicopter, Press Association reports.
Last year, a man was rescued in Dorset after falling 30ft down a cliff at Durdle Door.
Lulworth and Wyke Coastguard attended the scene and found that the man had fallen 30ft down the 100ft cliff face and landed on a ledge.
The man, in his 20s, suffered minor cuts and bruises.
He had been walking with his partner and was trying to take photos when he slipped and fell.
