Terrifying moment bull shark tips fisherman out of kayak (video)

The moment an aggressive bull shark capsized a man's kayak in Florida was caught on video.

US Coast Guard captain Ben Chancey was fishing off the coast of Stuart when several bull sharks surrounded his kayak.

Speaking to ABC News, Chancey said a grouper ate the bait he had on a fishing rod and had come up through the bull sharks. He added that it spat the bait out and a bull shark ate it.

"After the bull shark ate the bait, that's when it started spinning me around and dragging me all over the ocean," he said.

It swam under his boat and tipped his kayak over.

Chancey swam frantically back to a larger boat and once he and his friends managed to turn the kayak upright, he got back in.

He was then seen with the shark attached to his rod before the video cuts off.

According to New York Daily News, Chancey and his friends were able to pull the shark alongside the larger boat before letting it go.

In April, a family in Florida were terrified by a new neighbour - a huge bull shark that was spotted swimming close to their waterfront home.

The nine-foot shark was filmed swimming close to the edge of their lawn and just metres from their garden seating.

The footage was shot in Bonita Springs.

Speaking to NBC-2, angry residents blamed fishermen for throwing bait into the water, causing the sharks to return.
