The One World Trade Center observatory was officially opened in a public ceremony on Friday.

Celebrities, tourists and New York locals all attended the official ceremony at the top of New York's Freedom Tower building.

As the video shows, the curtain was raised revealing a stunning view of one of the world's most famous cities.

Construction on One World Trade Center started in 2004 and was finished on Memorial Day (May 25) this year.
