Two trains collide at Cambridge Station

Two trains were involved in a collision at Cambridge Station on Saturday morning.

Some passengers on the service were reportedly left with minor injuries after the small crash, which occurred at around 10am.

One passenger, Kevin Taylor, took to Twitter to share the news about the incident.

He said that "everyone went flying" and some people suffered "bumps and bruises", reports Cambridge News.

Speaking to Heart.co.uk, a spokesman for Great Northern said: "Shortly after 10am this morning one of our Great Northern services was involved in a low-speed incident in platform 7 of Cambridge station.

"This was the 09.14 King's Cross to Cambridge service, a four-carriage Class 365 train, which couples with another four-carriage unit in the platform to form a 10.30 return service to King's Cross. The two units came into contact.

"A full investigation will be carried out."
