Seagull steals tourist's lunch just as it's going in his mouth (video)
A tourist trying to enjoy a local delicacy on holiday found out the hard way that it's not just popular with the resident humans - but the animals, too.
American Calvin Hague started recording the moment he was set to enjoy a piece of fish the traditional way - by holding it aloft and lowering it into his mouth.
But a fast-moving, nimble-taloned seagull swoops in right at the moment it's going into his mouth, and takes his lunch out of his hands.
The film was shot by Calvin's girlfriend on a trip to Scheveningen in Holland.
Speaking to the MailOnline, he said: "I was actually on a date with my girlfriend and we decided to go to the beach.
"The whole reason we were filming it in the first place was because I wanted to show my American friends how you eat herring.
"As I placed the fish into my mouth, I closed my eyes and before I could bite down, it was gone!"
SO much for trying to be cultural.
