Naked couple continue 'audible' sex in East London park after police interference

Police were called after a local councillor spotted a naked couple having "audible" sex in a family park in East London on Tuesday.

Councillor Colin Cronin saw the couple "going at it full pelt" on George Green in Wanstead in full sight of surrounding roads and bus stops, and called in the Waltham Forest Metropolitan Police, reports the Independent.

He also took to Twitter to share news about the incident.

It has been reported that the couple actually had to be broken up a second time later, with some people suggesting the police didn't do enough to stop the scene.

A 39-year-old local woman told This Is Local London: "I have seen a lot in my time but I am genuinely shocked at what I saw yesterday evening.

"It was a full-on porn movie in Wanstead.

"Police walked up to the woman and she stood up with no knickers on and her cleavage hanging out.

"I can't believe they didn't do more than tell them to leave."

Councillor Cronin agreed it was an unbelievable scene, telling the paper: "I was shocked.

"It wasn't just a bit of petting, he was on top of her going at it full pelt while the shop keepers whistled and cheered them on."

Speaking to the Standard, a Met spokeswoman said the investigation was ongoing: "Police were called to George Green, Wanstead, on Tuesday at about 7.20pm to reports of couple engaged in sexual activity.

"Officers spoke to the man and woman at the scene and they were asked to leave the area.

"Officers remained in the area for a time afterwards and conducted patrols. The local policing team is aware of the incident and will be making further enquiries and speaking to local people."
