Chinese billionaire takes 6,400 staff on holiday to France

That's the kind of boss we like... A Chinese company has paid for 6,400 of its employees to go on a four-day holiday to France.

Tiens Group president Li Jinyuan booked 140 hotels in Paris and more than 4,700 rooms in Cannes and Monaco for their trip, which included a private viewing of the Louvre museum and a visit to the Moulin Rouge cabaret show.

Local media say the group is expected to spend around €13m (£9.5m) in total on the trip.

Christian Mantel, head of tourism development agency Atout France, told the BBC: "We have mobilised public services as well as tourism professionals, hotels, restaurants, shops and designer brands.

"So far everything has gone smoothly, the feedback has been extremely positive."

After enjoying the sights of Paris, including the Eiffel Tower, the group headed to the Cote d'Azur.

Jinyuan (pictured above) booked 7,600 TGV seats for the trip to the South of France, meaning extra trains had to be booked and extra staff hired at Gare de Lyon.

In total, Jinyuan booked 30,000 hotel rooms over four nights.

The biggest tour group to visit the country also broke the record for the longest "human-made phrase" while they were on the Riviera.

According to the IB Times, this was the culmination of the trip, which was organised to mark 20 years of partnership between Tiens and the French region.

Along the Promenade des Anglais in Nice, all the workers spelled out the words "Tiens' dream is Nice in the Cote d'Azur" in the world's longest human chain.

Jinyuan, who is on the Forbes Rich List and the 24th richest person in China, founded Tiens in 1995.

It is a large multinational company working in different sectors, including tourism, e-commerce, biotechnology and health management.
