Lindsay Lohan made a bit of social media blunder on Monday when she accidentally posted a photo on Instagram telling her followers: "You're a donkey".

The actress shared a photo of an Arabic phrase with the mistranslation 'you're beautiful' underneath, the Daily Mail reports.

The former child-star obviously quickly realised her mistake and the post was later removed from the social media site but not before it had been snapped up by various media outlets who commented on the hilarious mistake.

It seems that Lindsay was just a victim of Google as Defamer points out that the 'you're a donkey' post is the first result that comes up in Images when you search 'you're beautiful Arabic.'

Obviously keen on broadening her knowledge of language (or maybe just increasing her fan base) the Mean Girls star also tweeted in a bizarre combination of Italian and French on Monday (above).

Lohan also came under criticism recently for apparently photo shopping images of herself that she had shared on Instagram.

It appears the star had altered her waistline in one image she posted, prompting an immediate backlash online which led to her deleting yet another image from her social media account.
