"Only speak English on my train": Woman's 'racist' rant at men on Tube
Shocked Tube passengers watched as a woman launched an expletive 'racial rant' at two men speaking in a foreign language on the London Underground and says "you can only speak in English while you're on my train".
In the video, the woman is heard shouting at the men speaking in an Eastern European language and saying: "You know English when you want a job. You know English when you want a flat. You know English when you want f***ing anything."
"But when you want to try and talk about us on the train you talk in your own lingo."
She says: "Don't f***ing sit on my train and speak about me behind my back in your lingo."
One of the men is heard saying: "You don't even know what I was talking about.
"If you want to argue with someone you have to listen to what they're saying. Not everyone in here is speaking English."
Passenger Jay, 24, witnessed the rant on the District Line between Mile End and Plaistow on Saturday night and told the Daily Mail: "It was a total shock to witness this racist abuse. You really don't expect to see it in this day and age.
"The woman overhead them speaking in another language and then started aggressively ranting at them. Everyone in the carriage was absolutely shocked."
According to the Daily Mirror, one commuter intervened and shouted at the woman before leaving the train. The British Transport Police has been contacted about the incident.
In February, a video was uploaded on Vine appearing to show a woman telling a Tube passenger who is believed to be black: "You have a problem because you guys used to be slaves, yeah".
The altercation took place on the Jubilee Line at Stratford station.
The woman speaks with an eastern European accent and defends herself by saying: "I have black friends, I'm not racist".
A British Transport Police spokesman told the Evening Standard: "We have been made aware of a video posted online which appears to show an altercation onboard a London Underground Jubilee line train.
"Officers are currently analysing the video and are appealing for the person who recorded it to come forward."
