The UK's most desirable place to live: Bebington on the Wirral

Updated

The small town of Bebington in Merseyside has been named the UK's most desirable place to live in the UK, according to a new survey.

The study conducted for the Royal Mail by the Centre for Economic and Business Research looked at every postcode in the UK and included factors such as good schools, access to green spaces, good employment prospects, affordable housing and average commuting times.

Bebington was found to be the most desirable of all the UK's postcodes, with the Suffolk town of Kesgrave, Ipswich, coming in second.

Bebington, which is located close to the River Mersey, enjoyed the ideal balance of being able to live close to their place of employment, good schools and high employment, said the survey.

It found that towns in the North were by far the most desirable places to live and work in. Neilston came first in Scotland, Morriston came first in Wales and Craigavon came top in Northern Ireland.
