Boat seized in search for British man's missing girlfriend in Spain

A boat has been seized by police searching for a British man's girlfriend who has been missing in Marbella, Spain , since last year.

Agnese Klavina, 30, who was born in Latvia but lived in London, was spending the summer of 2014 in Marbella before she went missing in the early hours of 6 September.

She was last seen leaving the Aqwa Mist nightclub with two British men, who both claim they just gave her a lift and dropped her off safely.

It has now emerged police are searching a boat owned by one of the British men, after fearing her body may have been thrown into the sea.

The man who owns the boat is the son of a Spanish-based millionaire property developer from Essex.

According to the Mirror, the boat was seized in the port of Cartagena in south east Spain, around 300 miles east of a port near Marbella, where it had been based before Agnese went missing six months ago.

The two British men and a local doorman were arrested in November in connection with Agnese's disappearance, but no formal charges have yet been brought.

Her boyfriend, Michael Millis, a former London club owner, has searched the resort for his missing girlfriend.

According to the Express, he said: "The scant information we have discovered does not give any cause for optimism whatsoever."

Agnese's mum Daiga Klavina added: "We can't believe this is happening.

"It has now been nearly six months without our daughter, not knowing if she is still alive or where she may be."

A Facebook page called Find Agnese Klavina has been set up to help with the search.

A recent post on the page reads: "We must put these scumbags in prison before they strike again, if any one has any information no matter how small it might help us in the search for Agnese and put these scumbags behind bars where they belong.

"Thanks for your support."
