A man who was convicted of stabbing his girlfriend to death with scissors in 2003 has been working at a UK holiday park.

Adrian Duggan, 46, landed a job as a gardener with Haven in Dorset after being released early from jail.

He allegedly failed to inform the holiday park about his past.

The Sunday People recently contacted the holiday firm to alert them of the situation, and he was reportedly promptly dismissed.

A source told the paper: "We are grateful the Sunday People has brought this to our attention. Mr Duggan will no longer be employed."

The source added: "He was cheery. You'd never have known he had been responsible for such an horrific crime.

"But he is the last person you would want anywhere near kids at a holiday park."

Back in 2005, the BBC reported that Duggan, from Blaina, was found guilty of killing Catherine Campbell, 43, from Somerset, on Christmas Day in 2003.

The couple had been staying in a guest house on a three-month trip to India when Ms Campbell was found with neck and chest wounds in the early hours of Christmas Day.

Duggan has always said they were both assaulted by an intruder that locked them in their room.

The court was told that the owner of the guest house heard screams from their room and ran to it, but found it locked from the inside.

Police arrived at the scene to find Duggan badly injured and Ms Campbell stabbed to death with a pair of scissors.

Duggan was found guilty of murder and sentenced to life in prison. However, he appealed the decision and his conviction was reduced to manslaughter and his sentence reduced to 10 years.

He was released early from jail after a long campaign by his family, and has now married.
