'Drunk' topless Ryanair passenger forces emergency landing

A 'drunk' tourist travelling on a Ryanair flight from Dublin to Riga forced an emergency landing in Denmark after stripping naked and punching the walls of the plane.

The man was filmed stumbling around and leaning over passengers' seats at the back of the plane. Another passenger captured the video which shows another man attempting to restrain him before others help.

The pilot decided to land at Aarhus Airport so the man could be arrested.

Peter Hallstrøm, from East Jutland Police, told the Daily Mail: "A plane was diverted because of a drunk person, so we had to arrest him.

"He was uneasy on board the aircraft, and the staff could not handle him."

According to The Independent, local press reported that the man was tied up by staff.

Police confirmed that he did not resist arrest and was non-violent during the flight.

It is not clear whether the passenger faces charges.

In June last year, the captain of an Easyjet plane from Gatwick to Turkey had to delay landing after three drunk passengers ran amok mid-air in a scene described as "like Jeremy Kyle at 37,000ft".

The flight was delayed after the passengers ran wild in the aisles and the captain would not land until all 155 holidaymakers were seated.
