Ibiza tourist falls to death after boyfriend proposes on cliff top
A woman has fallen to her death after her boyfriend proposed to her on top of a cliff in the popular Ibiza resort of Cala Tarida.
Dimitrina Dimitrova, 29, reportedly lost her balance at the beauty spot on Tuesday, and suffered a heart attack after falling 65ft from the cliff edge.
She had flown out to Ibiza two days before to be with her boyfriend, who works as a waiter, on the island.
According to the Daily Telegraph, Ms Dimitrova was still alive when paramedics arrived at the scene but died minutes later after suffering major trauma.
According to the Mirror, a local Civil Guard spokesman said: "Everything is pointing towards the death being the result of a tragic freak accident."
The Daily Mail reports that a source added: "Her boyfriend lived and worked on Ibiza.
"She had arrived two days earlier to visit him and look for work.
"She fell seconds after her partner surprised her by proposing to her as she jumped up and down with emotion."
However, a local report suggests that 20 workers at a nearby construction site witnessed the fall, and one person claimed Ms Dimitrova was taking pictures at the time she fell.
Police are investigating the exact circumstances of her death.
