Cruise holidays 2015: Quantum of the Seas goes hi-tech
The world's most technologically advanced cruise ship has arrived and we were among the first ever passengers aboard Royal Caribbean's Quantum of the Seas to experience its hi-tech offering - from the robot bartenders to the only glass viewing pod at sea.
A multitude of smart features include an impressive digital art collection, Roboscreen shows and WOWbands which replace traditional room keys.
The ship is designed appeal to all ages and types of travellers - and the food's not bad either: gourmands have 18 distinctive restaurants from which to choose, including the first Jamie's Italian on a cruise ship and a rather imaginative eatery, Wonderland, a surreal and groundbreaking 'dreamscape' restaurant which has to be experienced to be believed.
Entertainment is the name of the game on board. The ship boasts the largest indoor active space at sea, SeaPlex, where you can enjoy bumper cars, roller skating and circus school. Want to take in the best views? Step into glass viewing pod North Star which will lift you 300ft above sea level, revealing 360-degree views of the ocean. Or to simply while away an afternoon, relax in the Solarium, a sunny spot with whirlpools, day beds and a smoothie bar.
Take a tour of the ship's most fascinating features below.
