Shocking footage has been released of a man head-butting a bus driver in Croydon.

Police are now hunting for the man, following the assault in south London.

The footage shows the unidentified man attack the 46-year-old driver as he waited by a bus stop outside a leisure centre in Waddon, south-west Croydon last November.

The driver was taken to hospital after the incident and received treatment for a cut on his head, reports the Evening Standard.

The Metropolitan Police released the CCTV footage of the violent attack in a bid to identify the attacker.

It is believed that the suspect had earlier stumbled over on another bus as it moved away, reports the Independent.

He then got off that bus and got on another bus at the same stop before the incident took place, according to police.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "The suspect travels on this bus and gets off at the Colonnades Leisure Park and attacks the victim.

"The suspect then fled prior to police arrival."

The suspect has been described as white, aged about 40 to 50-years-old, wearing a flat cap and dark coloured jacket.
