A woman was found dead in a popular pub in Hampstead, north London this morning.

According tot he Evening Standard, emergency services were called to reports of an unconscious woman at the King William IV pub, in Hampstead High Street, just after 10am this morning.

Police are now investigating the death which they have described as non-suspicious.

A spokesman for the Met said: "Police were called at around 10:05am to a report on an unconscious female at an address in Hampstead High Street.

"Police and LAS attended. The 36-year-old female was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The coroner has been informed and a post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.

"The death is being treated as non-suspicious."

According to the Ham&High, the woman has been named locally as Suzanne Wright, partner of the pub's landlady Elaine Loughran.

The paper also reported that she is believed to have taken her own life.

The dance instructor, who ran sessions at Glass Dance Studios at the O2 Centre in Finchley Road, lived on the first floor above the pub in Hampstead High Street.

The pub remains closed to the public today.
