Budget airline JetBlue is attempting to teach flight passengers to be less rude with a series of humorous videos.

The American airline's new #FlightEtiquette campaign hopes to inspire passengers to be more considerate to others by showing them how not to behave on a plane.

The videos show uncomfortable moments on flights, including how to handle seat-hogging sleepers and what to do when you need to use the toilet but don't want to wake your sleeping neighbour.

Chan Tran Huth, Brand Analyst for JetBlue Airways told Yahoo Travel: "This series stemmed from the insight that the things that happen to you while you're at the airport or inflight is always a fun conversation topic among those who are passionate about travel.

"#FlightEtiquette is all about the situational behaviours that can occur between strangers during air travel. Every airline tries to glamorise flying, but not many provide a more realistic and truthful perspective of the air travel experience."

But Lisa Borromeo, JetBlue director of brand management and advertising, told Bloomberg the JetBlue videos are not intended to tell customers how to behave. She said the exaggerated examples "are meant to be fun" and generate dialogue with passengers about their experiences.
