Police launch international manhunt after woman is found dead in Cardiff hotel
A murder investigation has been launched after a 28-year-old woman was found dead in a hotel room in Cardiff.
The body of Nadine Aburas was discovered by staff at the Future Inn hotel on New Year's Eve.
According to The Guardian, South Wales police are treating her death as murder and want to trace suspect Sammy Almahri, an American national living in New York City.
The 44-year-old checked in to the hotel on 30 December at 8.25pm. Nadine arrived at the hotel at around 9pm.
Almahri left the hotel at 3am on New Year's Eve and took a flight to Bahrain from Heathrow at 10.30am.
WalesOnline reports that police believe he is now in Tanzania. They are working with law enforcements agencies in New York and Tanzania to trace him but believe he has access to money which could help him evade police.
Detective Superintendent Paul Hurley of South Wales Police told the BBC: "We have been working closely with our counterparts in both NYPD and police officers in Tanzania.
"From our enquiries we have discovered that Almahri is very resourceful and has access to funds, which may further assist his evasion from law enforcement agencies.
"I consider this man to be a dangerous individual and would advise that any knowledge of his location or sightings of him are reported immediately to the authorities and he is not to be approached."
South Wales police said that Almahri had an "existing friendship" with Aburas.
Nadine's family released a statement and said: "She always wanted to help people and everybody loved her. She has left such a massive hole in our family and we will miss her so much."
