Final Christmas delivery dates

Time is running out if you still have some Christmas gifts to buy, or are yet to source your turkey.

Online retailers will only guarantee delivery in time for December 25 if you place your order by a certain date. So take note of these delivery deadlines and avoid ending up with cranberry sauce on your face.

A carefully chosen present failing to turn up on time for Christmas can be hugely disappointing - not to mention expensive if you have to head out at the last minute to find a replacement.

So here's a round up of the Christmas delivery deadlines set by the big-name retailers.

Amazon

If you want to benefit from Amazon's free delivery service, you must order any presents by midnight on December 19 to be sure of receiving them by Christmas.

First Class delivery Christmas orders can be made up to midnight on December 21, while any last-minute shoppers prepared to pay for "Evening Delivery" can place an order up to 9am on December 24.

Currys

The electrical retailer claims that its standard delivery service will get small gifts such as a camera or a kettle to you before Christmas as long as you place your order at least five working days before December 25.

So to be safe, you need to place your order by December 17, or shell out for one of the retailer's paid delivery options.

John Lewis
Thinking of purchasing a Christmas gift for a loved one from John Lewis? You've got until 8pm on December 20 to get your order in to be sure it will turn up on time if you're using standard delivery.
If you choose premium delivery you can order as late as December 22 (8pm).

For click and collect, it's Monday 22 December.

Debenhams
The department store guarantees that goods ordered by midnight on December 20 will arrive in time for Christmas with its standard delivery service.

Place an order after that, and you'll have to pay for next day delivery and make your purchase before 7pm on December 23 (or 10pm for next evening delivery).

Argos
If you need a large item to arrive from Argos in time for Christmas, you'll need to get it ordered by December 20.

For smaller items, however, you can receive your order on December 23 by paying for same day delivery starting at £4.95 before midday on the same date.

And don't forget about the turkey!
Forgetting to order the turkey in time for Christmas could ruin the whole day, never mind the meal. So make sure you don't miss the supermarket deadlines, many of which are almost here.

M&S
You have to order your Christmas food by 5pm on December 15 to get it in time for the big day.

Asda
Order your Asda turkey by 11pm on December 15 and the supermarket promises to deliver it to your home between December 20 and 23.

Morrisons
You'll have to get your skates on if you want a Morrisons turkey as online Christmas orders are only available until December 14.

Tesco You have until December 15 to order your bird, which will be delivered between December 20 and 23.

Waitrose
The supermarket promises to get a turkey to you by December 24, as long as you place your order by December 15.
